Panther Nation,
October is a very busy Month and in LHISD we have had a lot of great things going on. First, what an incredible Homecoming week. I loved seeing all of the school spirit around the district. Last week we introduced the new principal of Legacy Ranch High School to community members, parents, and future students. Mr. Koller is coming to us from Leander ISD where he last served as principal of Danielson Middle School and will officially start with us on Nov. 1. You may see him on campuses over the next month, as he is taking time throughout October to learn more about his school community and our LHISD culture.
We also received some incredible news from the College Board as we learned that two of our Liberty Hill High School students, Abigail Parsons and Conrad Gerten received a PERFECT SCORE on the ACT test. They were even recognized by KXAN last week! In addition, our high school band placed second in the U.S. Band San Antonio Regionals. As you may recall, we started this school year with a new band director, Joshua Muñoz. These are great accomplishments and we are very proud of our students and Mr. Muñoz! They compete again Wednesday night at 7:25 at Gupton Stadium.
Thank you for all that you do. I am glad that you are Panthers!

October is Hispanic Heritage Month
Campuses across the district have celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in a variety of ways! One of the events that really impressed was the beautiful Ballet Folklórico demonstration where Liberty Hill Middle School students danced in traditional attire. Having roots in the Mexican culture, this style of dance reflects the traditions, cultures and beliefs of people in a particular region.

World Mental Health Day
Liberty Hill ISD stands together to recognize World Mental Health Day! At LHISD, we believe in the power of supporting one another, not just academically, but also mentally and emotionally.
Mental health is as vital as physical health, and it's okay to not be okay sometimes. Let's break the stigma and create a safe space for open conversations about mental health.
Remember: You are not alone, and there's always help and hope. Reach out to a friend, family member, or counselor if you need someone to talk to. Together, we can make a difference.
For more information on how to get involved, visit the World Federation of Mental Health at www.wmhdofficial.com
