Nicole Hagerty, Principal of Santa Rita Middle School
The Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees announced the hiring of Nicole Hagerty as the new principal of Santa Rita Middle School during the June 18, 2024, board meeting. Nicole brings 25 years of experience in public education, beginning her career in 2000 as a science and math teacher at Hopewell Middle School in Round Rock ISD. She later served as both an assistant principal and principal in Round Rock ISD, developing a strong record of student-centered leadership at the middle school level.
A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Nicole earned her Master of Education from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004. Her educational philosophy focuses on preparing students for future academic and social success and ensuring they are empowered to seize opportunities, face challenges with confidence, and explore new possibilities.
Nicole grew up in Weatherford, Texas, and felt called to education from an early age. She considers it a privilege to serve students, staff, and the broader school community. She and her husband, Joe, moved to Liberty Hill nine years ago, drawn to its small-town feel and strong sense of community. Their daughter, Emma, graduated from Liberty Hill High School in May and will attend Tarleton University this fall. Their younger daughter, Sarah, is preparing for her sophomore year at the high school.
Outside of school, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and their standard schnauzer, Zeus, cheering on her daughters at soccer games, and embracing her new role as a future Tarleton parent.
